The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Firstly, a very happy and safe holiday season to you and yours.
Same to you :)
Now, How does one use adopted authority?
It's deceptively simple ...
Compile the program that performs the function you want. Change the
owner of the program to whoever actually has the authority you want to
adopt, then do a CHGPGM and set USRPRF(*OWNER) and USEADPAUT(*YES).
Now, when someone runs that program, they are effectively using the
authority of the programs owner.
Word of caution, however, adopted authority doesn't work with most IFS
commands ... for that you have to actually switch user profiles.
I have a menu option that calls an interactive program that saves certain
files then a library. The user does not have management rights to certain
objects in the library so she is not able to save the entire library. Is
adopted authority an option in this scenario?
Yes, adopted authority should work fine in that scenario.
