Paul,

You don't have to do this anymore.

You can do a CHGPF, specifying the changed dds source and it will do the
conversion for you (as long as you aren't changing an existing field
attribute from numeric to alpha or visa versa).

is 'better' than changing the DDS and recompiling the file, then
migrating the data...
