I have managed to get this to work by creating a copy of the DDS for physical file, INP35, creating it in QGPL and adding a single record. I will experiment to see if it is the size of the file, the location or the the fact that PARTS is a logical. You say it compiles OK? So it must reach the iSeries. Otherwise it'd have no idea what PNUM35 is. As an experiment I might remove the K from the F spec and then C 1 chain (e) Parts instead of the setll and Read. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Tuesday, October 07, 2003 3:58:23 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: VisualAge RPG - Data Access Here is the F spec and the action subroutine. The file is on our iSeries system and I have defined the server and the file on iSeries information panel. When I run the project in debug mode, I get the message - Cannot open input stream for default. (Maybe this has something to do with the problem).
