Good point - for me this is primarily a possible performance improver and, as you say, is not always applicable.

I'm tired from chasing COBOL issues all night, so I'm picking nits here, but
with MAINT(*DLY/*REBLD), the access paths are not automatically maintained,
and there is a rebuild process.  Then again, neither of these options can be
used for unique key access paths.
