(I think it's CGIDEV2/Easy400 demo, it's been a few years since I checked
this)
Take a look at Lansa Commerce edition. If for no other reason than to help
with a guideline?
For card processing, might check www.gosoftware.com .
In both cases the companies seem on top of their game and multi-platform.

I have a similar research list, but have not actually implemented either.
