In one sense, if you're cracker jack with Java, then it might not be too bad. I tend to think, as David mentioned, that anything can technically be converted to another language. Question is, in an example, where I convert the Enterprise system to assembler, who the devil out there can de-bug and maintain it? My latest statistics, (no I don't have a copy handy), say that there are still more RPG coders out there than Java coders.This too might change. Bottom line here is, how competent the individual is with the language, and looking just a bit down the road, how difficult will it be to maintain. Just pretend for a minute, that it's your business.
