For some, yes. But I believe - have not done it - that a SAVF can be split into multiple IFS files directly.by reading blocks and writing to a streamfile. Those streamfiles, if burnt on a CD, can be read directly, without copying, since they are in the IFS under /QOPT, and it may be possible to write that data directly into a SAVF.
