Hello All,
We have an application for almost 4 years in production and never received
this error before. Here is the error message:
Open of member FileA was changed to SEQONLY(*NO).
Not able to allocate objects needed for file FileA in library LibProd
member or program device FileA.
Error message CPF4128 appeared during OPEN for file FileA.
FileA has WAITFILE parameter set to *IMMED.
The request was initiated from a client server front-end.
I have few questions here:
1. We have so many other history files which get updated
allday(Read/Write/Update) by a number of applications simultaneously without
any errors. All these files have WAITFILE parm set to *IMMED.
2. If the WAITFILE parameter is set to 35 seconds rather than *IMMED,
is the System's defalut error handler going to wait for 60 seconds or
35 seconds? For example if you try to clear a locked file which has WAITFILE
parameter *IMMED, System's defalut error handler waits for 60 seconds. WHY
is this SO?
I'm totally confused as how this process is handled by the operating system?
Please help...
Thanks for all your help.
Ray
