Hello Rob,

Having just gone through this exercise for Sharp printers, that message
tells me there is nothing listening on the specified port (9101). You can
easily verify this from a DOS command line by telneting into the port. If
something is listening you will get a succesful connection.

So if there is nothing on port 9101 then:
        a) port 9101 is not supported
        b) port 9101 must be configured using the Admin/Console interface
        c) it uses some other port number

I searched the Lexmark technical support web site (which has to have the
stupidest search engine in the world -- one word search strings (e.g.,
PJL, port, 9100, ec.) find no hits) and could not find port information.
It is not in the MarkNet QuickStart guide so I suspect it might be in the
driver install manual (PC crap of course).

I'd send e-mail to Lexmark asking them what the port numbers are. It
shouldn't be this hard to locate that sort of information. They should
have a single page with all there devices and ports listed. Hope this
helps.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
