I have used an option USRASCII (or something similar) in the printer file, and the program did the conversion to ascii and inserted all the escape codes. The output comes out beatifull. The program is still working every day after a few years, but I dread the time we may have to do some maintenance on it.

Hi Len,
You cannot do it with Client Access. The way you send the Escape sequences
to the printer, requires a special feature called Hex Pass Through. This
feature was available on most of the third party Emulation Twinax cards and
Twinax Printer interfaces. For the TCP/IP connections this feature is
available only on some specific 5250 TCP/IP emulation products.
You may want to try one of these solution available on the market.

Oggetto: Sending escape codes to an Hp4050

Greetings all,

I have configured a PC5250 printer emulation in Client Access
Express (v4.3) for an HP4050. I am trying to send a spool file that I have
created with escape codes already inserted from my COBOL program. (see
below for example). The example listed below worked fine when the printer
was attached using a Twinax emulation card. Since that is not an option
anymore, I need to emulate the printer thru Client Access as I stated above.
I have set up a WSTCST (limited knowledge) but can't seem to get the printer
to recognize the escape codes.

I have searched the archives and found all kinds of information, I have
searched through the WSTCST programming manual - but know I'm even more
confused.

Can someone tell me if this can be done and if so help me get started.
