RE: File transfers between central AS/400 and multiple branch AS/400's

My first try would be enable APPC over TCP (MPTN) and make no code changes.

I understand what you said about; how well it works using MPTN.

I can tell you that exactly what you described works well over TCP using
frame relay or internet but I have not used VPN for it.

Their is at least 1 (old) redbook describing these differences over TCP.
