I believe GA is August 30. It would probably be prudent to wait for the
first Cume after GA when "production bugs" get worked out. I would suggest
going to V5R2 directly instead of V5R1 if you can wait a month or so.

When is the GA date for V5R2?

Depends on business and personal reasons.

If you need the functions that are in V5R1 now, would rather not wait for
this date, and don't mind working the additional downtime (which would be
avoided by skipping the release) then upgrade to V5R1 first. Otherwise
upgrade straight to V5R2. Cautious people (and not total Luddites - the
kind still running V4R4 or earlier) might suggest waiting until a month
after GA.

These comments are based strictly on generalities and not on any 'inside'
information.

Hello all,

We are scheduling an upgrade from V4R5. I've heard that V5R2 is more
stable
than V5R1 and it may be advantageous to upgrade directly to V5R2. What is
your opinions on this issue?

Thanks,

Mark
