John, I looked through the various System Handbooks, which follow OS/400 and hardware releases fairly well. The first mention of the 6817 10k drives was in the V4R4 edition. The hardware announcement letter for the 7xx series (199-191) notes that V4R3 is the minimum OS requirement for this drive. Your best bet for locating such information would be to look through the hardware announcements at the URL below. Take the announcement search option: http://www1.ibmlink.ibm.com/cgi-bin/master?xh=IUuTAgsKwK2SW72USenGnF9332 &request=usa.announcements&parms=&xhi=usa%2emain&xfr=N You can also use the Sales Manual, which is the official hardware/software manual for IBM equipment. Searching can be difficult. http://www1.ibmlink.ibm.com/cgi-bin/master?xh=IUuTAgsKwK2SW72USenGnF9332 &request=usa.salesmanual&parms=&xhi=usa%2emain&xfr=F&xfr=N Regards, Andy Nolen-Parkhouse > On Behalf Of John Shen > Subject: 6817(10K hard disk) > > Which OS/400 version and release at least when I install the 6817(10K hard > disk)? > And where I can search it from IBM web site? > > Thanks.
