For editing you might look at Linoma's Surveyor product - free to
individuals - very nice.

For FTP, is this regularly scheduled stuff? Then batch FTP scripts are the
answer. Or there have been FTP command-line, error-monitorable packages
mentioned here. Trailblazer makes a commercial one.

Also, someone on the list has a package that gives you emulation without
the interactive penalty - a sockets thing? Speak up, please.
