... er, I have a DST profile administration profile, my client did not. The issue is that I used the OS/400-based QSECOFR password AND the CHGDSTPWD command to reset the password to *default and re-enable it. I did not use my DST profile to do more than disable the DST QSECOFR profile and monitor for the subsequent changes to it. I am not quite so daft as to risk putting myself in the same position as my client simply for the sake of confirming (potential) good news! I do know some people who might argue that point though! However, the situation requiring a SLIP installation included the condition that no other profile than QSECOFR has DST administration authority. It would seem that your case does not match the SLIP installation conditions. Or am I confused? Donald R. Fisher, III Project Manager The Roomstore Furniture Company (804) 784-7600 extension 2124 DFisher@roomstoreeast.com <clip> a few weeks ago I was told that if the DST QSECOFR profile is disabled, and that there were no other DST profiles with DST profile administration rights, that a slip install of the os was the only way to recover access to DST QSECOFR <clip> (I have my own DST administrator profile); I then ran CHGDSTPWD and refreshed the DST profiles screen, sure enough the profile had been re-enabled. <clip> _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star Internet.
