Just a thought Albert, The error message indicates that the server is finding blanks where it expects to find a command. It strikes me that the only reasonable place for a blank command is as a third parameter on your first line. I assume that your command file looks like this: yorka mypw cd \\ftpsvr\data put upload Daily_Claims.txt quit What would happen if you tried: yorka mypw cd \\ftpsvr\data put upload Daily_Claims.txt quit Regards, Andy Nolen-Parkhouse > -----Original Message----- > From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com] > On Behalf Of York, Albert > Sent: Monday, July 22, 2002 11:06 AM > To: 'midrange-l@midrange.com' > Subject: RE: Problem with FTP script file > > I tried a physical file and got the same problem. > > The solution seems to be to put the user id and password on the same line. > I > still get an error message ('': command not understood) but it works > anyway, > > Albert York
