Hi Don:
I see that no one has responded to your problem here as of yet.
I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are doing here.

Are you saying that you have GHOSTED the drive in the T20 already?

What OS is on the GHOSTED drive? W2K. Our PC/network guru once told me
that W2K was very picky about the disk controller that runs for the
drive. When I bought a new laptop (non IBM) I had W2K on my old laptop.
He ghosted my old laptop (w2k) and then loaded the ghost image back onto
my new one. It failed on reboot, but he explained that since the HDD
controller in each laptop was different, Windows would not boot. He
booted the machine from the Y2K CD, and ran a REPAIR. The repair
process got the proper driver for the drive controller and it merrily
booted.

I know if this will help you or not. Good luck.

Subject: Thinkpad part needed...

My thanks for you indulgence.

When you buy a IBM thinkpad, they include a order form for a product
that is a PCMCIA card which you can plug into your klunkpad and "ghost"
the drive onto a second drive.

The problem is, I've lost that order form and ghost isn't working on the
IBM thinkpads (T20 in this case). We can ghost the drive, boot the
drive on another INTEL platform, but when inserting the klunkpad drive
back into the T20, it fails...go figure, thank you IBM!

To make matters worse, IBM Klunkpad division in Phoenix has NO CLUE what
this part is and has been dragging their feet for the last 3 weeks being
able to find it... AND, klunkpad CE's WILL NOT Ghost klunkpad drives!
...dude, I think I'm gonna fix this problem next time....!

So, does anyone happen to have a copy of this document handy that I
could get the info from? We've got a 20gig drive we don't want to have
to rebuild....

TIA

Don in DC
