Thanks to all that helped, problem solved, deleted devd and recreated using CA, there is a box to check to allow the AS/400 to do the EBCDIC-ASCII (I think Andy gave me that suggestion) translation and that seemed to solve the problem, now to just figure out why it is doing condensed, bold print, probably gonna have to mess with what kind of printer it thinks it is. This printer an Okidata was attached to a dumb terminal emulating an IBM4201 model 1 (ProPRinter) so I did the same in CA but....... Mark Allen I.S.
