Actually it was 1% before. ICC (um, IGF) couldn't handle a 1% lease so it was written as a 2% lease of a 50% discount, but at the end of the day that is 1%. Also, the previous lease was a 24 month lease with a 12 month opt out so you could stay more current. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 (208) 692-3308 eFax WaldenL@TechSoftInc.com http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur. That's an attractive rate isn't it? 1.75% of a $25 000 system is... $450/month? On the face of it that sounds reasonable to me. ----------------------------------------------- Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com ----------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: midrange-l@midrange.com Date: Monday, June 10, 2002 10:56:04 AM To: 'midrange-l@midrange.com' Subject: Developer Lease to 1.75%???? I just got the following in an e-mail from IBM, this is a joke, right? "Effective June 7th, the lease rate for the developer lease offering will change to 1.75% of list price. The affected platforms are, iSeries, pSeries, Storage Systems and Retail Store Systems (Point of Sale). The lease term duration is 24 months with no early termination option." The last thing IBM should be doing is making it harder for software developers to get a machine and stay current on it. Does anying have any insight into this? -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 (208) 692-3308 eFax WaldenL@TechSoftInc.com http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
