I'm trying to get TPC-H tables on our 400, for testing. Got the DBGEN program converted enough to get flat files written in IFS. One of them is over 6,000,000 records and should end up about 800meg in size, plus indexes, if attached. What I did was CPYFRMIMPF to get the data to a physical file. But, WOW! The temp file (in QRECOVERY) was over 5gig, with record length = 990. I'm sure there're good reasons for this, but oooooooooooh, could you run out of space in a hurry. We were somewhere around 75% when I started and were close to 95% during the copy. It's done now, but I'd probably try to write a direct load to the physical for later.
