You might want to try another fellow at ATT I had someone check with them and they said they did bloack NETBIOS (I had him ask about the port numbers) And I heard if they did not you would be able to see your neighbors shares. Even their web site says they block NETBIOS. They do not say if they just block incoming traffic or both. Why doesn't AT&T Broadband have a firewall in place for me? Currently, AT&T Broadband does filter the netbios ports 137, 138 and 139 as well as DHCP traffic on ports 67 and 68. We believe that putting a firewall in place for our customers on the network would be too restrictive to their enjoyment and usage of the Internet. We do not believe it should be up to the ISP to determine what kind of access you can have to the Internet but instead, we recommend that our customers consider installing a firewall themselves. It is up to the customer to regulate how much access they would like from the Internet.
