Hi Vernon,

AfAiK, the only reason is when you are using SNA. In that case, when your PC's
are configured to use NetSoft Router, they always point to the MAC address. In
the event that your adapter gets shot and you need to replace it, you will/may
then get a different address. In that case you would need to reconfigure all
your SNA devices that refer to the MAC address. The same apllies to LAN
configs on 5494, etc.
