DDM in one form or another has been around for many years and is
VERY reliable. If you are having "failures", it is in the communications
and not DDM.

Could you describe these problems ????
>>> Well, one system I had a very hard time getting it to link across. When
I had it working, the next day it didn't work again. I asked the person who
fixed it, if this could happened again, he said possibly. Well, we can't
have possibly because may of these are batch reports that can't be made
again, and they need access to this cross reference file so it knows where
to store the PDF copy of the file. Then another day, when we ran the reports
on the other system, we got the "cannot find file" error message. That is
when I deleted the DDM file and put the real files in it's place.

What is each system running ??(what version)
>>> V4R5

How are the systems connected ???
>>> via TCP ethernet. I was/am using a SNA DDM file. As far as I know, we
can't use TCP because there are many different users that are running the
program that accesses the "master file". And from what I can tell, you have
to have a user profile on both systems if you use TCP.

Why do you think DDM is not reliable ???
>>> We were having too many problems to deem it reliable enough for us.
Maybe we just don't know how to set it up properly. Oh, also the host system
is locked down tight so that may have been some of the problems.
