Rick, Changes to the QPFRADJ system value take effect immediately. Running on a UPS and then resuming operations from utility power should not affect overall system performance under normal circumstances. Are you sure that you did not IPL? There is a system value that will cause the system to power up when power is restored following a failure. If something intense is consuming processor cycles and it doesn't show up under WRKACTJOB, then you may have a system task running amok. If you have Performance Tools installed, use the WRKSYSACT command to check. What sort of disk activity are you reporting? Use WRKDSKSTS command to check per cent activity. I'm assuming that when you mention disk utilization, you are referring to the per cent of system ASP used, not activity. If your activity is at 35%, this would be high and would affect overall system response times.
