                  This chart depicts the lifespan of AS/400 and iSeries models 
through year end 2001. The model life begins at initial availability, and ends 
when upgrades from the model are no longer available. IBM Maintenance 
Agreements continue to be available after models and upgrades are withdrawn 
from marketing.



                  Notes:
                    a.. Dates on individual models may vary by country.
                    b.. Information provided is as of 24 April 2001.
                    c.. Model 170 upgrades will not be available as of 29 
December 2001.
                    d.. Model 7xx models will not be available for new sales as 
of 29 December 2001, but processor upgrades within a 7xx model and upgrades 
from 7xx to 8xx will continue to be available.
                    e.. No announcements regarding marketing life have been 
made for the 250, 270 and 8xx.
