I could be totally misunderstanding how it worked, but I just went to V4R5 a
couple of weeks ago and that was all CD based and the CD's came with certain
CD's making up one set i.e.:

AS400(R) VERSION 4 OPERATING SYSTEM/400 5769-SS1 R05M00

B2924_01 (first CD)
B2924_02 (second CD)
B2924_03 (third CD)

Now of course there code could be such that it knows only a whole part of "X"
is on a CD and it doesn't actually need the additional CD(s) until it gets to
the next "step" and that step knows to ask for the additional CD(s) ?
