I suspect this will have to wait until a more sophisticated demo program/dspf 
is made available. More sophisticated probably means "not written in CL". I 
mean, the posted code was really nothing more than close to the minimum needed 
to show that a batch job can indeed do some workstation I/O. Processing such as 
RELeasing the device might not be possible in CL. (I've never even tried to 
close such a file explicitly in CL; never had a need.)

I could supply an RPG/COBOL demo, but it'll take time that I won't have for a 
few days. It's been years since I needed to do this, so code examples are at a 
site long since in my past. Doesn't ANYBODY else ever need to do this???
