I think that's normal with the <ahem> 'advanced' windows systems. I get the same thing with win2K at work and XP RC2 at home both using CAE for r510. I now need to input passwords to our various iSeries and the exchange server and some other stuff as well. I think they are more secure (although still windows, and windows security remains an oxymoron). 95, 98 and ME all remembered passwords in a list file (*.pwl?)if you signed on to your PC with a password and NT does not. The only thing that doesn't prompt me for repeated passwords is Code/400. -----Original Message----- From: Bale, Dan [mailto:D.Bale@handleman.com] Sent: Friday, September 28, 2001 12:54 PM To: Midrange-L@midrange.com Subject: Client Access "Signon to AS/400" window This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] My Win95 PC was just replaced with a WinNT 4.0 PC. Am now going through all the crap associated with getting my system to work like it did before. I have reinstalled Client Access V3R1M2 and applied the latest service pack for it. Even though I saved all the \private files from the original system and restored them to the new system, I had to go in and add all seven of our systems to the AS/400 Connnections app. Thankfully, that's now done, but now I am stuck getting a "Signon to AS/400" window each time I start a session on a given AS/400. It defaults to my user ID for the particular system, but I have to type in the password and click OK before I have to do it all over again on the AS/400 signon screen. On my Win95 PC, I was able to twiggle something way back when so that I never saw the "Signon to AS/400" window again. But darned if I can't find that twiggle now! Anybody have a clue here?
