v4r5 backup dlo takes more tapes -- MIDRANGE-L

After we went to v4r5 our DLO's took twice as much tape.  Our dasd
usage did not go up much and the time to back the dlo's up did
not increase and the number of objects actually decreased a few
thousand (we have 57,000 dlo objects).  Is there some kind of ptf for
dlo compression?
