Thanks Tim, I do not recall being told anything about this when I bought the system. So I really hope that I can remove it without major issues. It is used for media handling, products like PAE/Librarian &r BRMS/400 use it. I am also sure that it is a required element from V4R4 onwards. Try DLTLICPGM and see if that works, although you may have to restore it. It is also a chargeable item in OS/400, which is a bit silly if you HAVE to have it! Should come as part of the OS...
