If you have Performance Adjuster turned on (QPFRADJ system value), it will manage shared pool sizes and shared pool activity levels to optimize overall system throughput. In my experience, it does a fairly decent job. So this discussion about activity levels is rather theoretic. However, there could be configurations where Performance Adjuster gets confused - then a manual configuration is required. The whole discussion about activity levels puzzles me a bit. 36 hours ago I set the Activity Level to 100 for all pools (expect the last little one). Since then the system has steadily decreased those from 100 to (now) about 65, falling about 1 an hour. Does this mean that it doesn't matter what I set the activity levels to? Are they automatically adjusted to a more reasonable (?) level? _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
