Hello Phil, You wrote: >Anyone know why I'm getting CPFA0A9? open() expects the address of a null-terminated string. I'd bet that trailing blanks (or other invisible characters) are being included in your file name. That would explain why it 'appears' in the directory list but you can't access it by name. Remember that passing a pointer by value (what the API expects) is exactly the same as passing a variable by reference (what RPG prefers) so you can simplify the call by defining the prototype as a character string with OPTIONS(*VARSIZE:*STRING). You could also use %STR to build the null-terminated string and simply pass the basing pointer to open(). It has been a while since I messed with this stuff but I'm pretty sure the above will work.
