Hi Chris!
  This is not easy to do.  CPYSPLF won't work, but there are spooled file
APIs that will do this for you, sort of.  See
http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/200006/msg01565.html for one.  The
spooled file API manual is the best(?) reference for all this stuff.  There
is no simple, clean way to extract the text from the AFP commands.  If you
want to try commercial software, I believe that TAATOOLS handles AFP spooled
files with CVTFRMSPLF.  http://www.taatool.com  There may be others - check
News/400 ads.
