Thanks Jim I was at the gene6.com site which appears to be the same product. From the bpftpserver.com site I learned why there could be a problem but I still don't know why I have no trouble when going through my pc (which is behind a firewall & router and uses NAT) but the as/400 does have trouble (also behind a firewall but not the same one). I'm going to have someone on the same LAN as the as/400 try it from a PC tomorrow to try and track down where the problem is exactly. Thanks again, Phil > > if you have not been already, there is a faq on the site, and lists a "LS" > problem. > http://www.bpftpserver.com/index.html and check "help" > 1) If you are behind a router / firewall check FAQ 3.2 & 3.3 > 2) If remote user is behind a firewall, tell him to switch his > ftp client to > passive (PASV) mode > 3) Check that this user have right to list (+L) in user account / access > rights > 4) FTP Client is behind a NAT, you should see a list attempt with PORT > 192,168... command or PORT , user should switch his ftp client to PASV > (passive) mode. > btw - i never used this server, just got curious & poked into their site. > if you already been thru this (sorry) > jim > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Phil" <sublime78ska@yahoo.com> > To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> > Sent: Monday, August 27, 2001 9:54 PM > Subject: FTP > > > _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
