VNC can be used through a firewall but only do it if you are using a VPN connection or something similar. The VNC product is great for remote control but the communications are completely un-encrypted. That is why you pay money for PC Anywhere; they have an encrypted security scheme. VNC has only user ID and password protection. And, in true Unix fashion, there is not '3 strikes and you're out'! So use VNC with caution!
