I never worked with QS36 but have lots S/36 & M.36 expereince.
In 36 world, all files were internal program-described but we had what were 
called alternatie index files.
In 36 world, the index to a file was like externally described & you could 
have several different index versions.

Your OCL to reorganize the physical file needs to delete all of these 
alternate indexes before, then rebuild after.  Ideally one wants some way of 
capturing what the alternate index story is in the OCL & put that in a 
parameter, for ease of rebuild after.  Alternatively the program that needs 
it, could build at start of OCL, then kill it at end of OCL.  It all depends 
what all else 36 is using that physical file for.
