Leif, >interesting how everybody (the media, at least) blame Micro$oft ISS for code >red, when Cisco is also to blame. I've seen the media report it affects some Cisco routers too. But note also that when this happens, the Cisco router does not propagate the worm as does IIS, nor does it participate in DOS attacks on other sites. Of course, it also means any site running this router doesn't need a massive DOS attack to be taken out of commission. And while the Cisco problem may have been an unintended side effect of Code Red (which seems to be targeting white house sites), it does mean that it would be painfully easy to keep knocking the router out after the power was cycled -- if that is what one was trying to do.
