At least you got something - was it reasonable compensation? Here thanks to
the Labour Govt who are changing the rules, you get only 50 pounds a week
for only the first six months unless you have no savings. (After 6 months
you get nothing, and drop out of the unemployment statistics.) That's barely
enough to run the car, let alone paying for food and mortgage and insurance
etc! They also changed how much the company has to pay you when it makes you
redundant - not much these days, though many companies pay more than the
statutory minimum just to be decent.
