  • Subject: After using back overlay getting error 'The resource object was not found for user'
  • From: Bonnie_Lokenvitz@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Has anyone experienced this problem? Any solution?

We are on V4R4 and recently implemented printing a document with a back
overlay (from Word document).
After the document prints, subsequent spool files that specify DUPLEX(*YES)
(printed to the same device as the document ) generate the PQT0012 message
'The resource object was not found for user'. There are blanks in
the message text between words 'object' and 'was not found'.

All spool files on that device print single sided until we end subsystem
QSPL, restart it and the writer. Printers are InfoPrint21 and InfoPrint40.
This is only back overlay we've have and all our front overlays originated
in Excel documents.

Cause . . . . . : An attempt was made to obtain Advanced Function
Printing (AFP) resource objects to print file &1
number &2 in job &5/&4/&3. The print request was submitted by user &4.
The resource object that was requested
could not be found. If the resource object was a font character set, it
may have a pel density (resolution) incompatible
with the device or a font technology incompatible with the device. If you
 specified absolute fidelity,
processing of the print request ended. If you specified content fidelity
and the error occurred while trying to locate a
resource of *PAGDFN or *FNTRSC, processing of the print request ended.
If you specified content fidelity
and the error did not occur while trying to locate a resource of *PAGDFN
or *FNTRSC, processing of the print request
continued.

Document printer file is created with DEVTYPE( *AFPDS) although the same
thing occurs when created with DEVTYPE(*IPDS).

Thanks,
Bonnie Lokenvitz
