you are sooo right.  

if ibm was smart, they'd:

promote the i/series like microsoft is the 'enterprise software for the
agile business' or whatever.  instead of this new thing with a guy and a
computer on a merry go round.

remember the folks that brought them to the dance.  milking them does
them no favors.

i do understand that ibm feels they need to get the applciation base
more modern.  providing good tools and afforidable education is the way
to approach that, not punish the faithful.
