My experience with twisted pair baluns was that the daisy chain you are
talkin about did not work.  Each terminal or printer had to be star wired to
the "hub" device.  I was ocassionally able to get the daisy chain to work
over short cables like multiple terminals set up in a lab type environment
but it was un predictable.

I know someone who has many unused "hub" devices.  I can't remember the
number but they have a twinax connector and 8 rj11 jacks.  I can put you in
touch.
