>I know I can save the journal and the journal receivers using savobj. But
what I don't know is how or what I need to restore to be able to read those
entries again.

Consider using a SAVF along with a tape for the Save object you can do the
DTACPR which saves on size and you can keep the Receivers on the system longer.

SAVOBJ OBJ(&JRRCV) LIB(&JRRCVL) DEV(*SAVF) +
             OBJTYPE(*JRNRCV) SAVF(&JRJRNL/&JRRCV) +
             CLEAR(*ALL) DTACPR(*YES)

> Do I need to restore that journal and associated receivers
together or do I only need one piece of them.

Don't remove the Journal, just the Receivers as the receivers are what holds the
data changes and the Journal just holds the reference to the PF's and is not
very big.

 >And also when I do restore
them how do they reference back to the original journal.

Use RSTOBJ to put back the Receivers to the library they first exsisted in and
they will reattach to the journal correctly. They must have the Journal to be
used!

 > Does that mean
that they need to be restored to a different library to keep from
conflicting with my current journalling?

As long as you let the system handle the Numbering Sequence of the Receivers
they do not conflict with current journalling.
