Re: Saves log journals

We have restored journal receivers back into the journal receiver library,
and everything has 'connected together' correctly in the journal, at least
enough for us to do DSPJRN commands specifying a starting and ending
journal receiver name and usually a date and time.

Our journal receivers have a four digit suffix that takes a while to
repeat, so we don't have a problem with duplicate names.

Hi All,

Any logging or journalling experts out there.
We are using logging to save database changes and create reports off of
those changes.

We need to provide for saving those journals and being able to restore them
at a later date if necessary.

I know I can save the journal and the journal receivers using savobj.  But
what I don't know is how or what I need to restore to be able to read those
entries again.  Do I need to restore that journal and associated receivers
together or do I only need one piece of them.  And also when I do restore
them how do they reference back to the original journal.  Does that mean
that they need to be restored to a different library to keep from
conflicting with my current journalling?

Anything else I may be missing.
