Could you tell me what is the problem in this SQL statement "create
function"

1/ Create an SQLRPGLE with the name as MYLIB01/MYPGM01. This program
accepts two parms and returns a record set.

2/ Create a function in SQL

 create function FIRSTLAST (char(20), char(20)) returns char(40)
external name 'MYLIB01/MYPGM01' language RPGLE parameter style sql

3/ When I use the following select statement

select FIRSTLAST(firstname, lastname) from FILE01

I get the result set

Position to line . . . . . Shift to column
....+....1....+....2....+....3....+....4
FIRSTLAST

******** End of data ********

4/ When I use MSSQL and

call MYLIB01.MYPGM01 ('John', 'Smith')

I got the result set back as

'John Smith',

Thank you in advance.
