8 is indeed the limit.  This sounds like a great place for a printer
client/service program.  You set up a server that runs in batch and listens
to a data queue.  Your client (the program with all the print files) sends a
request to the server detailing what printer to print on and what to print.
Obviously there is more to it than that, but you didn't want to break THIS
program up...
