Let us not confuse value with price - if you only require Beetle value then 
buy the Beetle, but if you require Ferrari value you need to buy the 
Ferrari.

Perhaps on the surface the AS/400 tools look like their cheaper cousins but 
in terms of what they offer to the AS/400 user and consequently your 
business (on top of their development costs) they may seem to cost more but 
it is a valid cost.

If it were possible to develop and sell AS/400 tools at "PC prices" and 
still make a living why hasn't some one already done it - they've had 10+ 
years and then all the allegedly high priced AS/400 tools would have to 
drop in price to survive.

But therein lies the rub - the AS/400 tools provide the Beetle value at the
Ferrari price.
