You'll still need to use a CALL for program 1. The call to program 2 will
change to a CALLB in program 1.

CALLB is a call to a BOUND PROGRAM.
CALLP is a call to a PROCEDURE.

This may help some but, look into program 2 for some performance increases
by not setting *INLR until the last call by program 1.

Subject: Make go faster

Good Morning All;

I inherited a program that takes an hour to process 40,000 records. Program
1
calls program 2 twice for each record. I would like to see if I can
decrease
the run time by binding these 2 programs together, but I am not sure how to
do
this.

I want to try this:
        Change Call in Prog 1 to CallB
        Create Mod --> Prog 1
        Create Mod --> Prog 2
        Create PGM specifying Prog1 as the first program

Will this work? What is the difference between CallB and CallP?

Thanks for the help!
