Eric,

: I'm using the "SYSTEM" function to pass commands from my RPGIV
: program. I need to be able to identify any exception messages
that
: result from my commands, but I can't seem to figure out how to
capture
:      these.

Don't use system() !

Why do you need to use ILE/C runtime system() function from RPG in the
first place ?

It's very difficult to get escape message back from commands executed
via system() function, even in C.

I'd suggest using something like the QCAPCMD API, this leaves messages
in the joblog, in such a way that the QMHxxxxx API's can get hold of
them.

HTH,
