Cynthia, Yes, I have relocated many AS/400s both across the city and across the country. The cost of moving a system and network depends on numerous factors such as how long in hours is your outage window, distance of the relocation, what are the critical applications on systems. Examples, to move a system across the country is more than across the city, if you require 24 X 7 availablity you may have to buy/lease a new system (seed system) and replicate data with a Mimix type of product and then switch over, if you are moving across country and have a short downtime window then you looking at a charter plane instead of a moving truck. A few suggestions: do not underestimate the scope of a project to relocate a data center, it requires detailed analysis and planning, plan for the worst such as the moving truck being in a wreck and your system is destroyed, do a full system save multiple times and transport the tapes in a different vehicle than the system. This could include all Networking components as well as an AS/400. Has anyone had any experience in relocating an AS/400? Any ideas as to costs associated with?
