Subject: Portrait not landscape.

We have lexmark optra s printers out in the field defined as remote outq's.
I was wondering if it was possible to make them print in portrait instead of
landscape?

Thanks Chris

Dear Chris,

The applications on your AS/400 that are being passed through the Remote
Output Queues to the Lexmark printers receive many of their print attributes
(including portrait versus landscape) via an AS/400 operating system based
output filtering function called a printer file. There is a parameter in a
printer file called Degree of Page Rotation. Its default is *AUTO which
causes the OS/400 operating system to automatically rotate and reduce a
green bar sized report (13.2 inches horizontal by anything greather than 8.5
inches vertical) to fit on letter sized paper.

To inhibit this function called Computer Output Reduction (COR), you can
change the value in the printer file from *AUTO to 0 for portrait or 90 for
landscape without reduction.
